brian brian2 Royals RoyalsIt was a banner day for Geyserville, The Geyserville Royals  finished 2nd, and Brian Crebs received the Charlie Ricord award.

Charlie Ricord of Cloverdale was a beloved sports figure in town from the 1960’s  to the early 80’s, as well as a Little League coach and a Ponytail League manager and coach.

He died in a tragic car crash two days before Christmas in 1983.

To honor his memory, the Ponytail League, under then-president Cherna Alliston, initiated the “Charlie Ricord Award” in 1984. The award recognizes a volunteer that the board, coaches, umpires and parents feel has done the most for the league during that particular season.

Brian Crebs saw a community need, kids sports, and filled it. Through tireless fundraising efforts like car washes, and the Maggie & Jiggs Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, etc.

Crebs has made it his goal that the Geyserville sports teams will be able to participate even after loosing ALL their funding.

Congratulations to Geyserville’s own, Brian Crebs and the Geyserville Ponytails.
