Geyserville celebrates Memorial Day or not
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service.
For the 1,650 residents of Geyserville there is limited offering over the Memorial Day weekend.
Of course we all like to wear boots and cover our ankles against possible rattle snake bites and head out to Olive Hill Cemetary with the Grim Sweepers, Sunday May 27th, 9:30 a.m.,who spend the morning cleaning up the graveyard. Be sure to bring your gardening hoe and water bottle.
Monday May 28, the American Legion Memorial Day program will start at Olive Hill Cemetary at 11:00 a.m.
But what to do when Grim Sweepers call it a day and the Am Legion Progam is over?
How about a good fashioned block party, and invite the neighbors. When was the last time you shared a meal with the people who live around you?
The group possibilities are endless, and hamburgers and potato salad come to mind, or is the three day weekend too tempting and you plan on curling up on your patio lounge and enjoying a good book.
However you choose to enjoy Geyserville over the Memorial Day Weekend, Geyserville is a great place to be.
