Jess Jackson family buys thoroughbred

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 | Posted by | 2 responses

The family of the late Jess Jackson made a splash at the Fasig-Tipton yearling thoroughbred sales in Kentucky July  12, purchasing  the sales-topper with partner George Bolton.

The new owners bid $310,000 to secure the son of Harlan’s Holiday and Acrosstheborder.

Jackson passed away April 21 at age 81 and his wife,  Barbara Banke, has taken the reins of the family horse holdings. The Jackson family campaigned two recent Horses of the Year, Curlin and Rachel Alexandra.

Bolton and the Jackson family also own Astrology, third in the 2011 Preakness Stakes.

  1. The purchase is cool but the Rachel, Curlin foal is what I’m waiting for. Hope all is well on that front!

  2. Must add…

I’m waiting for the Zenyatta, Bernardini foal also.. Couldn’t leave her out!
